New Labour Hire Licensing System

A new business system for processing Labour Hire Licence applications was rolled out on 4 July 2025.

There may be some delays to processing timeframes as a result of the new system. WorkSafe ACT requests your patience while we navigate the new system.

Any telephone or email enquiries will be actioned within 10 business days.

I need to make an application for a new licence or renewal of a licence.

The new business system used for processing Labour Hire Licence renewal applications requires all information to be uploaded into an online business portal.

Prior to uploading any information into the business portal, you will need to submit an application for a New Business Portal Account by following the steps as per the diagram below. Applications for a New Business Portal Account could be made through the link here.

Once you have submitted your application for a New Business Portal Account, the information needs to be checked and approved by a WorkSafe ACT officer. These approvals can take 1-2 business days to process, and sometimes longer if clarification of any information is required. You will receive an email once your New Business Portal Account has been approved.

If your Labour Hire Licence has expired, or is about to expire, WorkSafe ACT will work with you to ensure your licence is renewed as soon possible.

Once your New Business Portal Account has been approved, you can lodge renewal of your Labour Hire Licence through your Business Portal found under the ‘My Business profile’ option.
